I am in the 8th year of my career and one thing is very evident at the workplace, buttering. Many people tend to butter their boss and even to some extent their colleagues. Is Buttering so necessary to move up in your career ladder?

I have never brown nosed in my life and have no intention of doing it. If you work hard at your job and make sure your bosses realize you work hard, it's the better way to move up the corporate ladder.

I did not mean to offend anyone. Its just what i have been witnessing around. I have seen low educated staff being promoted in comparison to highly qualified guys. That's what my point of discussion was.

in this day and age when healthy eating is "politically correct" maybe you should use margarine on your boss and colleagues instead. Less calories and better for you and them.
