Ragging is a common problem in India when the colleges open the seniors try to rag the freshers in order to show their superiority that they are seniors. The ragging is a not a new phenomena but it new emerged as dangerous proportion. The victime student who unable to digest being ragged sometimes commit suicide and there are instances that some students have left the education. Whether is it necessary to rag but I think it is not but some say that they are indulging in theragging to remove the fear complex in the freshers. But is it utterly false notion by ragging the student may have chance to develop new kind of tension. The government by recognising the ill effects of ragging brought legislation to curb the practice, but now and then we hear taking place ofragging. The laws which are available should be strictly implemented those responsible for ragging must be rusticatedf and criminal proceedings may be launched against them. But the law only does not change the position there should be change of attitude of persons to curb the evil act of ragging in the educational insitutions.
