I love trivia and have broken it down into categories. The first one today is in the group First Black Americans and if this works out I shall cover more categories. I must ask you one favor, however, please do not look up the answers in order to make it fair to everyone. The first one who gets all four correct will get a best response. So get those fingers poised and ready to go. (There is no time limit...hehehehe? 1. First Black American to win an Oscar. 2. First Black American to be pictured on a US postage stamp. 3. First Black American to sing at the Metropolitan Opera. 4. First Black American to win a Wimbleton singles' title.

That is correct. And do you remember what the DAR did to her when she wanted to sing at Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. They refused. So she was invited to sing in front of the Lincoln Memorial and was a smashing success. Don't remember the year but I believe it was after her Met appearance. Also did you know that after she was a success at the Met in many cities where she held concerts or sang opera many of the best hotels refused to let her stay there. Just a little bit of added trivia. Thanks for getting at least one right. The others are a little bit trickier especially the 1st one which is my favorite.
