Yes most definately I have been to Sydney but then again I am also an Aussie. LOL The first time I went to Sydney was way back in 1964, aged 14, and it was a real eye opener for a country girl from northern Queensland. I was taken on a holiday by my grandparents and we stayed with rellies there that time. After that I used to go kind of regularly, mostly passing through on my way from Brisbane to Melbourne, although we lived there for a few months in 1972. Now we live in the country, and I dislike it intensely but it is the crowds, pollution and noise more than anything else. I find that I prefer the quiet life in the country, but Sydney does have a lot of attractions for the young as well as the overseas visitor. The next time we will be there will be in March/April for an appointment, however we will travel so far one day then stay overnight, have the appointment and probably make it half way back to the bush that night. :)

Thanks for your reply, you must be around the same age as me and Sydney has changed a lot since when you first came here I prefer to live here as I have just come back from living in the country and most of the people their have changed a lot in the bush and I would rather live here now than where we are not accepted it is like we are not the same people, but I still have a lot of lovely friends there.

Having lived most of my life in the country, in different places of course, I am used to the ways. I am sure that there is plenty to do and from time to time we catch up with friends who live out past Penrith but when we have an appointment it is always in the city, which means battling traffic.

Hiya, fellow Aussie here.I used to live in the Western Suburbs of Sydney when I was little. Then, all of a sudden, my parents decided they had enough of the city life and packed up our bags and we moved to the bush out in the middle of nowhere. What a culture shock! Living the city life with people everywhere, then moving to a small country town with a great big population of ...... wait for it....... 800 people. When I finished school I ended up moving back to Sydney because of work. It was so nice to start with and Sydney really is a beautiful place but I grew to not like it. Too many people, too expensive and very 'touristy'. I ended up moving to Victoria and I live in a lovely suburban house. I have bushland across the road from me and it's only 30 mins to the city. Now I have a 'happy medium'
