Their bad reputation

I have a pit bull and I belong to a "club" for pit bull owners. They are all friendly, loyal, and smart animals. I know 2 who are volunteers at a senior home. Mine loves children and puppies. Bottom line it all comes down to how they are raised. It all depends on the owner. What are your opinions?

It is in the way that they are raised, in the little town that I live by, it is illegal to own them, and that is wrong. But yet there are still dog bites there all the time, but they don't ban the labs that are doing it. i have seven pits myself, and four kids that grew up with pits. One of my older ones, a female named Brindle, played mom to a billy goat kid that lost his mom. She was so gentle, cleaning his face, letting him sleep by her, if he cried, she was right there to see what was wrong. I wish all of the people that think that they are such bad dogs could have seen that.

I have a male red-nose pit and he's one of the best dogs I've ever owned. He's very playful and also protective of my 3 children. He's never attacked anyone and is very good with people. I've seen plenty of dogs, not just pit bulls that have been raised wrong...it's not the breed that people should be scared of. It's the owners that aren't raising their dogs correctly that should be feared.

Awww! That's awesome that you have such an awesome dog. I completely agree with you that the bad owners should be feared, not the dogs.

You are absolutely right. I hate when dogs are "tagged" with a bad reputation. I have had many different types of breeds, Doberman Pinscher (Tagged dangerous killer), Chihuahuas (tagged yappy),Maltese tagged spoiled) etc., etc. Each and every one was different from the label.

I have a 3 year old pit bull and I could not ask for a better dog. My husband was the on that convinced my to get a pit bull but i was kind of hesitant. My pit bulls name is diamond and she is a wonderful dog. I tell my husband she is my bodyguard she will not let anything happen to me. My husband and I had a baby when diamond was 2. I was still worried about how she would act with a new baby. About 3 weeks after I came home from the hospital our neighbors, who rarely come over, came over to see the baby. Diamond started barking at them for getting to close to the bassinet. My daughter is now 17 months and Diamond is no longer my dog now she is my daughter's best friend. They do everything together

I have two and they are the most amazing dogs ever. I have had my female ever since my son was a month old and we have never had a problem. She loves him and would never do anything to harm him. She would certainly protect us though if we were in any danger. It is all based on how they are raised. I hate the bad rep they get.
