I personally just like the plain, normal stuff, but I'm up to try new ideas! I like cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese, sometimes some black olives, carrots, and peanuts! I'm not much on meat in salad.
What do you put in your salad? What is your favorite dressing?

I love cucumbers in my salad, romaine and baby greens, soy bacos, grated parmasian cheese, sun dried tomatoes, cashews... and some kind of vinagerette.
I also like another salad that has romaine, pineapple, sugared almonds, scallions, cucumbers and a sweet and sour salad dressing.
I love to mix my salads up with new and interesting things. I used to do that more often when I still lived with my mom. I've tried all different kinds of fruit and vegetables. I like beets in my salads. I've used roasted red peppers and pickled artichoke hearts in a Mediterranian salad...
I like green goddess dressing and ginger sesame dressings the most.

Thank you. I also sometimes put sunflower seeds in my salads as well. I'm a vegetarian, so I've kind of had to make my salads more interesting - so I don't get bored :)

I love salad, it's just delicious.
My perfect salad consists of: Mixed lettuce, grated carrot, a little bit of grated cheese, black olives, sliced almonds, marinated tofu squares, sliced red chilli's, salt and pepper, and Thai lime and chilli low calorie dressing.

Me too, I don't like chicken or ham in it but every once in a while. I'm trying to "spice" mine up, as I'm starting to get bored with it, just not sure what else to add.
Thank you for the response!

I like eggs, tomatoes, beetroot, cheese, salmon, coleslaw and more than anything, it must have pickled onions and a good dollop of salad cream. I love to heap it all between two slices of very fresh white bread and have it with a cup of tea.

You never change it up a bit? Never? lol. That's how I used to be. I was very surprised to find peanuts add some great flavor. Now I can't have salad without them!
Thank you for your response!

Salad is a term applied broadly to many food preparations that are a mixture of chopped or sliced ingredients. A salad can be served cold or at room temperature, and it can also form the filling for a sandwich. Though it can be made with meat or eggs, it usually includes at least one raw vegetable or fruit, most often lettuce. Often it is prepared or served with a dressing.
A salad may be served before or after the main dish as a separate course, as a main course in itself, or as a side dish.
Salad may refer to a blended food item— often meat, seafood or eggs blended with mayonnaise, finely chopped vegetables and seasonings— which can be served as part of a green salad or used as a sandwich filling. Salads of this kind include egg, chicken, tuna, shrimp, and ham salad.
I enjoy salads. I toss a little bit of everything in them. I like the standard..... different cheeses, hard boiled eggs and bacon bits. I am now trying to sneak more fruit into my salads with pears, apples and dried fruit. I've started adding pecans, pine nuts and almonds trying to get more protien, fiber and grains in our diets. I am not allowed to put cucumbers, squash or radishes in our salads, my hubby does not like them.
When I have company over, I like to make a colorful salad by adding green, red, yellow and orange peppers. It gives the salad a nice festive flare. I like to experiment with different dressings. I had a terrific cranberry vinegrete the other night. The remainder of my family will only each ranch dressing. I prefer the vinigrete dressings because they have more zip and less calories than creamy dressings. Salads are a fabulous vitamin source, fiber and in general wonderful for your body!
Be creative with your salads, with all the different veggies and toppings, no need to have the same salad 2x's in the same week.

My most favorite salad consists of sweet baby greens(ready to eat salads in package),Asian Vinaigrette with sesame&ginger, mandarin slices, some sliced and toasted almonds and a handful of chow mein noodles.I love the crunch the nuts and noodles add to it and the dressing is a little sweet but still savory.Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

When I make a salad I put everything on it. I like a meal! I do not digest iceberg lettuce very good so I was using either spinach(which I am not now) or
Romaine lettuce, carrots, cucumber, radish, boiled egg, cheese, bacon bits or crutons, tomato, onions, bell pepper, salad dressing, and I like meat but do not always put meat since I have the bacon bits or crutons.

I'm such a weirdo when it comes to my salads. Only Iceberg lettuce, a few carrots, perhaps hard boiled eggs, broccoli if it's fresh, croutons, bacon, ham, cheese and ranch dressing. Of course, very little is good for me! lol But it's yummy! Of course various types of salads are great too.. like a chicken, bacon and ranch salad. Steak salad. And such!

Crutons. They are the best. I even eat them without the salad.

I like the regular stuff like lettuce, tomatoes, green peppers but recently been experimenting with other ideas and I've added smoked salmon to my salads as well as feta and avocado. tastes pretty great actually.
