What do you think the impact of his execution will be? Is Iraq better off for it? Is the world? Did he deserve it?

I think this was overdue. His execution was a must, in order to show others what the consequences are if they tried to attack someone in today's modern world. Such dictatorships always have ended the same or even in a worst way. This is something they get for their dids. This will not impact anything in a the sort term or long term. World forgets the gone very soon, but there will be politicians trying to take this as an opportunity to succeed in their goals, whatever they may be!

I think he was responsible for a lot of evil in Iraq, possibly the arab equivalent of Hitler. I do worry though about extremists who will use his execution as further fuel to their insanity.

Exactly thats what I said in different words. There always are opportunists trying to step on issues like these and jump off to catch what they want.
