I am terrified of tornado's. Everytime we get a storm with any wind I get really terrified. If they are calling for bad weather at night, I will get up and check the tv and the radar on the computer and will not sleep until I'm sure the threat is gone. I have been terrified of just thunderstorms since I was a little girl because my sister and I was caught outside getting clothes in when a terrible storm got up. We had left all the house windows open and we were alone. My dad was suppose to be home soon. We ran in the house and everytime she and I would go toward a window to shut it, lighting would hit at that spot. So that messed me up. Then years later a tornado hit right up the road from our house and this family was hit hard. I never forgot what the mother said when her little boy was found way away from the house beside their barn. She said she knew it was suppose to be bad that night but she went to bed anyway and she awoke to a loud noise and ran toward her 2 year olds room. It hit her house while she was in the hall. It took out the living room and her sons room. She woke up not knowing where her little boy was. they found him later. Ever since then I haven't been able to sleep at night whenever there is a chance of severe weather. Anyone else have that fear?

I have to admit that tornados don't really bother me, I tend to sleep thru them. I worry about flooding or fire. If I am ever told to leave I will grab my cat & go because I don't mess with floods at all. I have been in a fire and I think that is why I am afraid of it. I will still grap my cat & go I don't mess about when it comes to those 2 things. It almost seems like they are alive, the way the breathe & pulsate. I have to quit know I am freaking myself out.

Sorry that you have that fear, it must be bad. I know, I have my own phobias.
Anyway, when I was younger used to be terrified of them. But a I grew up some I got used to hearing about them and tried not to get to upset. Usually if I hear one is comig nearby I will feel a twinge of fear but that's all. I hope nothing bad ever happens here that will make me terrified again. I'm a nervous enough person as it is hahaha.
