Do you know of anyone who was born with extra digits?

My daughter was born with an extra toe on each of her feet.
They were surgically removed, as there was no bone in them, but she still needs to have a bit of surgery to tidy them up when she has grown a bit more.

Yes we do have friends whose son was born with extra little finger on one hand and like you said it had no bone in it, so was removed when he was very young. It hasn't affected him in any way, which is good and there is nothing else wrong with him.
It was quite a worrying time for our friends when he was born as they were told that there could be other medical problems with their son, but this was not the case although it took months of tests before they were sure. Pur friends said the Doctors called it "polydactyly", and that has always stuck in my mind, but I am not sure this is the correct spelling. Also at the time this happened I was also expecting our son, so it was a little unnerving.
