I have been interested in knowing and learning how to make my own candles. Does anyone here know how? And if so, could you share with us that would like to learn...or help get us started....

I have started getting items and equipment. I made a few candles inhigh school and am getting back to it. The first thing you should do is get equipment. a heat source for melting is always necessaryof course, but Iprefer to stay away from open flame for that. A two burner buffet hotplate would do pretty well. Then you need two pots...one to heat the water, then ond tomelt the wax in...double boiler style. There are alot of other steps. You might check out a few yahoo groups or look at crafter's websites for wax, additive, and other information. Buy small amount of your conummables so that you can track how things are going. After you get your technique down, you will find its cheaper than buying commercially made candles, and alot more satisfying.
