Do you get worked up watching TV, especially in those that spark emotions?

I sometimes get very worked up when I happen to watch those soap operas about people cheating on one another and getting away with it. Sometimes, I wish I go jump into the TV and give that person a beating. Nowadays, when those scenes come on, I just walk out of the room because I can't stand those situations that are about to happen. I could just throw the entire TV out the windows! :) Do you feel the same?

Oh, thanks! At least I know I am not alone. I always seem to see things like someone getting raped or cheated by someone they know as their best friend and confidante who then betray them with blackmail, etc. Soap Operas top the list. I don't watch these shows anymore. They work up my emotions and I get very angry when my friends laugh and say "that's life". That's not life! It's not supposed to be like that in real life but since TV is a strong influence, hitting us with something like outrageous controversies is not helping society and people to realise that doing certain things is wrong. And the best part is, they are telling us that you can do a wicked thing or a horrendous crime and as long as you can afford a high-priced lawyer, you can twist things in your favour. OK - I have to stop here and pick up that glass of cold water again and count to 10 again! :)

Well, I've never had to walk out because of emotion, but sure I get worked up. I think that's a compliment to the actors/writers/directors/and all that make the program. For that small amount of time, you're supposed to believe in what's happening. And, the internet helps keep those feelings alive, because I can jump on a message board and post that I couldn't believe what this character did, or how much I hate them or love them.

Yes, I feel like you. In fact, I like my computer better. I have it all on it. I don't even like to go to a movie or rent a dvd if it is going to be sad. Life is hard enough without the extra tears, we all need peace and happiness. Blessings, M&M
