Celebrating the World Bible Day on July 1

Kottayam (India): There was a joint meeting of the various missionary organisations held at the Baseelia Prayer Tower and decided to celebrate the World Bible Day on 1st of July. Rev. Paul Ciniraj, the chairman of the World Bible Day Celebration Committee said that they are requesting all the Churches, Denominations, Bible Societies, Missionary Organisations, Theological Seminaries, Bible and Prayer Fellowships and all of the Christian Institutions to be participated with the celebration of "the World Bible Day on July 1st" and make it a great success. The ancient churches are celebrating June 29 and 30 as the Days of St. Peter and St. Paul as well as all of the Apostles. It followed by a 13 days lent from June 16 onwards. Apostles represent the church. That means those days are the days of the preparation of the Church. The Bible is given to the Church and the World Bible Day should be followed by the Days of the preparation of the Church. So July 1st is the apt day for celebrating the World Bible Day. Rev. Paul Cineraj said. Also the Bible is the book of the Salvation and it is the important Scripture in the center of the human life. More or less July 1st is the middle of an year and considered it as the World Bible Day. He added. The following programmes will be conducting for the World Bible Day on 1st of July: 1). Send greeting cards for the Happy Bible Day on 1st of July and encourage all of your friends and relatives to send Bible Day greetings from 15th of June onwards. 2). Conduct special services or the prayer fellowships in the churches with a message of the Bible Day and greet each others with the holy kiss. 3). Conduct Bible Seminars, Quiz Competitions and other biblical Programmes among children, students, youth and the women. 4). Conduct public meetings followed by a Bible Procession in each town with the participation of all the churches and congregations. 5). Encourage every christians to donate at least one Bible on that day as a token of love to a dear one, especially to a non christian friend. 6). Encourage all the staff and the students of the christian institutions to wear a badge mentioning "July 1, the World Bible Day" with a verse of the Bible. 7). Encourage all the christian families to have a lunch together following by a family prayer and reading of a portion from the Bible. (It is good to invite non christian friends for the lunch and honour them with giving the Bible as a gift). 8). Encourage all the christians to wish others a Happy Bible Day by distributing Bible tracts.
