To Wed or Not to We that is the Question?

Is Wedding really all that important in society today? If you truely love someone and you both vow to each other through heart and soul that you would spend your life together should that be good enough? Or should a peice of paper sealed by the church and state dictate what is in your heart? What is your opinion?

Not to me it isn't. I'm 71 not married, never was and never will be. Everybody thinks I'm out of my mind and missing many things. I respond with....you can't miss what you never had. I had several opportunities to marry but I chose a career instead and have never regreted it. I've seen a large part of this world and had I married I probably never would have left home. There are some people who are not cut out for marriage or companionships and I am one of them.

i hear you. To many time marriage is like a prison and I don't like that feeling. Thanks for the post
