Do you live in a rural area, or the city?

I just wondered where people live at. I live in the countryside on a farm, and wondered if others live in remote areas, or live in cities. If you live in the country, or city, what do you like most about it? I like the peace and quiet of the countryside and long walks in the woods. (I do like to visit the city, though!)

I grew up in a rural area and couldn't wait to get out because I always thought I was missing out on all the stuff going on in the city. I moved to the city when I was 18. Now it is 12 years later and I would love to move back to where I grew up. I yearn for that slow pace and all the pretty sights of nature.

I liked your response...I did the same thing, lol. When I moved off of my Dad's farm I couldn't wait to live in the city. As I got older and had my children, I couldn't wait to move back to the country. The country life sure is different, and I love being in nature more than I ever liked living in the city.

Yes I live in a rural area. I love it here, we have so many tress it's wonderful and I love sitting on the deck and looking at the stars since there aren't lights blocking them out. The only thing I don't like is I have to travel 30 min to find a job.

I live in a city but close to the outter parts. It is acutually very quiet here not like the inner part of the city. I have live in the country and love it. I go back in the country for visits and to get away sometimes. In fact tomarrow will be going for a ride to view the fall colors of the leaves. Where we live they are at thier peak season and I love the diffrent colors of the leaves.

I live in a rural area. I used to live in an apartment building in a city, and on weekends my husband and I would drive into the country and see fields and fields of grass, and we both knew that's what we wanted.

We live in a very tiny town in Mississippi. So I am not sure if this qualifies as city or not. LOL We do live in a neighborhood but have a huge landscaped backyard. I like the convenience of city living, when I did that, but I also love the quiet of natural country living. I have read some very nice descriptions of places to live on this discussion. I would love to find the perfect balance between the two. Lillith

I live in a small city. I can go about a mile down the road and see the country life. I grew up in the country and I enjoy it alot more. Its peaceful in the country. You can actually think. lol. Citys are nice because everything is right there but if I had to choose I would choose country life.

I lived in the country for quite a few years and I loved it. It si so tranquil there. I live in suburb now that still has a country feel to it and it is much quieter here than in the middle of the city.

I live beyond rural...my backyard is a forest and nothing is within walking distance..except nature. I wouldn't want it any other way.

I live in the city, but used to have cows behind my house. So I guess it would be both city and a little country!
