As I am new I'm not sure how this works, When do you pick a best response, do you wait a few days/weeks to see if you get more repies or just pick one the day you start your discussion and hope you dont get a better one than the one you have already picked? And does the best response you pick earn more than your other responses?

You do it whenever you prefer to do it. If you go back to your responses regulary, then you can wait a week or so. If you do not go back and forth, then you may as well do it the next time you go back. I think what it does is makes the best response show up more to be answered. I'm not real sure about that. But, it's nice to do for someone that took the time out to really try to respond to your post. You can also give + ratings to as many people as you want, if they please you with their response. And, if someone gives a good post, they too can be given a + by the person responding. Need more help, email me or post. Good luck and enjoy MyLot. Blessings.

I'm still a newbie myself .. but so far I've been picking the response that best fits with the topic .. or where folks have put a lot of thought into their answer .. One word replies will get marked down by me .. they are a waste of time and add absolutely nothing to the discussion And I honestly don't know if 'Best Response' gets paid more .. and I can't find out how the 'earnings' side of the discussions work ... there doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rules ... or if there are I haven't found them yet ... MyLot take note ... a beginners guide to the intricate algorithm that you use to calculate earnings with would be very useful and welcome ...

I always try to award best response for all of my discussions I have started and also rate them if the response is worthy, but I don't rate EVERY single response like some people do, otherwise what's the point in the rating system. I usually wait until I've got a page of replies before I award the best response, unless there is a particularly good answer which merits the reward earlier on.

Well, you can do it whenever you want, but most people wait until a couple days pass or in the case of really popular discussions, lots of responses. The people you choose as best responses actually get paid a little more, so that's why it helps to give a good response each time you do so. It doesn't matter for you really, as far as I know anyway.

Yes I think I will wait about a week as well, incase anyone else wants to reply. As when I see a best responce already given I just give a quick reply , where as If there wasnt one I would take more time to think about my reply before writing it. Thanks for your reply its appreciated.
