Here in Philadelphia we have soft pretzels, cheesesteaks, scrapple, tastykakes. What foods do you have in your area that I might not have heard of here?

Here is Canada we have something called Big Mac's. It is from a fast food chain called McDonald's. We also have Teen Burgers, from A&W. Whoppers from Burger King & Big Bacon Classic from Wendy's. Have you heard of these?

You know I was kidding about the McDonald's.... Really, you don't have an A&W? We don't have a Jack-In-The-Box but I know of it. Do you have Jack-In-The-Box?

nope no A&w. No Jack in the Box either. Also no Sonic despite the fact that their commercials are on tv all the time.

We have "Philly cheesesteaks here in Ky as well. But I'm sure they're not as good as the original. We have buffalo burgers, potato skins, mint juleps, Guru wraps, potatocakes.

I have never had a cheesesteak outside of this area but from what I hear, they're not so good. What is a guru wrap? We have potato skins, where there's chedder cheese and bacon on them, is that what you have there?

a guru wrap is a greek sandwich. Guru is the name of the bread. It has pork, mayo, lettuce and tomato on it. Our potato skins are the same except we add green onions, sour cream, and salsa to ours as well. Sometimes we'll have them with jalepeno peppers and chili instead of salsa.

Well there's vegemite -though most have heard of that :-) Here in South Aust. we have fritz - which is sort of a processed meat thing and I won't go into details of what's apparantly in it :-) but it tastes good.

I'm from New York, nothing original here. Love Philly cheesesteaks, by the way. Pat's King of Steaks is freakin awesome.

It's become somewhat of a stereotype... lol... but here we have poutine. It's basically french fries and cheese curds with hot gravy poured over top. Or, as we call it in our house... "heart attack on a plate" I LOVE soft pretzels... I haven't had a decent one since the last time I was in New York City and bought one hot from a street vendor :)

When you say gravy do you mean red sauce? If so that sounds pretty tasty...but definitely not good for yoU! I can't imagine not having soft pretzels around! All those carbs...YUM.

Well, the gravy tends to vary, depending on the restaurant. Sometimes, it's more of a brown gravy, other times it's more like a BBQ sauce that you would get with rotisserie chicken. I think that might be more like what you're thinking. Poutine really sounds disgusting, I realize that! LOL But, honestly, once in a long time, if you have a small one, it's pretty good :)

Oh. now that does sound gross. I thought maybe you meant like pizza sauce, some people here call tomato sauce gravy. If that had been the case I thought it sounded a little like our "pizza fries"---don't know if you have em, but fries with mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce. Definitely not good for you, but they ARE pretty tasty!

I live in Maryland and what is available the most around here is seafood. Especally crabcakes. I love all kinds of food. One of my favortie snacks is hummus, I actually never tried it until I was in Qatar. I also love sushi which I started eating when I was stationed in Okinawa.
