...40 years of marriage as the new golden anniversary? they say, people are getting married later and later in life so few couples reach 50 years together, if at all. that's why, the golden anniversary has been moved to the 40th year of marriage. what do you think of this?

REALLY? I hadnt heard that yet. I think that things change because times change. I believe it to be true that people are getting married later in life and having children later in life. When it used to be common at one time for kids to be out of their homes by the time the parents are 40, it is no longer the case. Now parents are going into their 50s and 60s before kids are graduating and going to college. This will be the case with us. Our kids will be graduating from high school in our late 50's. Both my husband and I decided to have careers before having kids. I think its great that they changed the Golden Anniversary. Thanks for the heads up...we have 30 more years to go...he he!

it's the same situation with us. we got married in our late twenties so, i welcome this new date for the celebration of the golden anniversay. at least, by then, maybe i'd still be able to look pretty in a gown and still able to walk on my feet down the aisle, huh? he, he!
