Can we please give LOL a rest!

I am tired of this expression. Can't we find something else to replace it. Everyone uses it, and sometimes what they are saying is not funny at all. If what you say is funny you don't need the LOL. Maybe we could just put a smiley face or haha at the end. Does anyone else feel the same way?

I too hate this LOL, as its giving some bad meaning in my regional language. I'm from Tamilnadu, South India.
