Short-eared begal..

Is there such a thing? My husband grew up with this dog and he's still alive. He wants our daughter to have his puppies. but we don't have a female. We called everywhere looking for his breed, but no one knows what kind of dog this is. Has anyone ever heard of this breed? Short-eared begal.

I don't think there is a such a breed.
There's only the 15" Beagle and the 13" Beagle. The difference is only in size. The ears should be proportionate to the head and body.
