Why is it so that the hero of the movie always gets a thrashing first?

I have been wondering about this from a very long time and I'm still confused that they always show the hero of the movie getting a thrashing from the so called bad guys . It happens only towards the end that the hero realizes his powers and hits the decisive blow.
Why is it so?

ohh its is just to prove the old saying whenever crime crosses a certain limit then there always will be an avatar who will come and free the world of it.
and hero gets the beating first, so as to make getting rid of the evil guy his business and not leave it others.
and he wins in the end to prove another saying that truth or the righteous always win in the end... a happy ending.

Ah yeah it s a theory which i think works with people. People likes to see a hero getting beated first and then taking revenge.
So may be thats the theory and as it is working so its good with the directors.
Cheers,
