Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. It seems that Moratti has come to an agreement with Luis Figo for the latter to stay in Inter Milan after all. According to the local sports newspaper, Moratti has offered to renew Figo's contract to 2008 (he'll be 36 at the end). No further details on salary and such. Now my question is, is it possible that Figo staged this whole hoop la la to get a new contract? Or was he really interested in Saudi Arabia and the voluptuous contract offered. I would hope that it was just a ploy to renew but I'm not sure whether we will ever know the truth about the matter. Comments please.

Oh,i get shocked when i read your discussion now becuase he is going to the middle east, that mean I can never see him playing on the TV again...
I started to like him in 2000 euro cup ( not sure yr 200 or not) when he was playing against England, he scored a wonderful 40 yards long shoot and finally got a comeback victory 3-2 .
His technique and charm will always be in my mind

I know what you mean. I still wish he was playing for the Portuguese National team but he said goodbye to the team after the 2004 Euro Cup. He received his formation in my club, Sporting, so we always get a lot of news on him. I feel that it is a toss up between him and Eusebio as to which is the best Portuguese player of all time to day. However, if Cristiano Ronaldo does not suffer any major injuries during his career he may well pass both of them. He certainly has the potention. I am sure that at least in the beginning of his new venture his actions will be well carried by the sports media. Thanks for dropping by and for your input.

Please don't tell me that you are a Benfiquista? I am hoping that they tie in Porto on Sunday. Sporting needs to win two points from each of them in order to still have a shot at the championship. I doubt if we can get past Porto but if Benfica ties then we will only be 3 points behind Benfica and we still have to play Benfica in a few weeks so we have a chance to at least wind up in second place.
