What should be done about the pit bulls? They're obviously becoming a menace to society, tearing up little kids, other dogs, and now ponies. I think scientists should build an army of new breed dogs to track down all the pit bulls and fight them to the death

Pit bulls are trained into agression. I was once bit by an abused Cocker Spaniel, should we ban those as well? Pit bulls are a loving loyal breed who have received a bad reputation. Any dog can and has been dangerous. It is the media that helps perpetuate this myth.

I believe this is true of any animal, not even only dogs for that matter. No need to exclude one breed.

The pit bulls that attack children and other people are only the result of poor training of the owners. They are very wonderful animals if they are taken care of properly and trained properly. The owners are to blame when these dogs do harm to someone. It is not the dogs fault. If someone trains a dog to be vicious, then that is what the dog will do.

If American Pit Bull Terriers (the dog commonly known as "pit bulls") are bred right, they're not human agressive. But, of course, any dog can be trained to be mean. It's not the dogs, but the bad breeders/owners of these dogs that should be punished. It's a shame that so many people know so little about the breed & the fact that there are about 5 other breeds that are also classified as "pit bulls". Have you ever owned one of these awesome dogs? I have 4 of them & I wouldn't trade them for any other breed.
