Why people don`t display their real pictures?

I don't mind sharing my pic with others. The display pic in my profile is my real pic. However, I would really doubt if this is your real pic. Anyway, even i feel y do people have problems sharing their own pics. At one point, they will like to talk to strangers and at other point they won't share their details. Thats disgusting

For me the reason why I do not display my picture is because I am working in the company where I surf during my work duty. I do not want that my employer get notice. But rest assured all my posts here are honest. Is that really you in that picture?

I guess its all about self-confidence or lack thereof. Some of us are just shy while some are not.

Well nice topic .. about which i am also curious. About me , its my actual picture and i never hide as what I am .. I am :) Also i never lie here (atleast try to do so) But i know most of (may be +90%) people do lie and hide them. May be flirty nature or they feel some enjoyment in doing so or some other reason. Let c from other comments of your response :)
