Last mothers' day I began being active in a small church. I liked it a great deal when I started but as the year winds down there has been alot of personal feelings being shared about people as gosip form. I haven't gone to church in years to avoid this type of thing. The pastor left shortly after comming and the youth minister left this last Wednesday. Over the past months the pews have been really bare but today,it was nuts 3/4 of the people I've not seen since last spring showed back up after hearing the youth pastor and his family left. I don't understand why I ended up in a church with so many personal issues. I pray people get right with God and make amends with each other or this church will be totally coruppted. I'm just confused why I would experience such turmoil.

Maybe you were led there to help heal the church and bring everyone back together. Just remember, God reveals things to us in His time not ours :). I think if you feel like He's leading you to stay at that church, then you should stay.

Thank you I know God knows why and faith is what we have to believe to lean on. It's happening but it's sad that one person had to leave to make a difference. It makes it harder because with these things going on it turns my husband away from comming with me. As we have been discussing lately Gods' only gaurentee is a palce in heaven. Please pray for this little church and my husbands' faith to be restored. GodBless and Happy Newyear!

Andrea, we need to remember that human nature will never change. You will find good and bad in any group of people. Unfortunately, many people with severe problems find their way into a Christian Church - and rightly so, because that is where they should find help. Again unfortunately, these people can sometimes cause problems. The important thing for all people to remember is that we don't throw away good money because there is counterfeit. Neither do we throw away Christians and Church because there are imitations. If that is the Church to which the Lord has led you, be steadfast. If not, look for a Bible-believing, Christ-centred Church where you will be helped to mature in the faith.

One of the memebers' that feels that God is leading to preach preached his first sermon a few weeks ago. He made a very true statement about the church needs to get back together and reunite before God sends anymore preachers there. If it's not united they will run more off. I think it's awake up call they needed. They didn't hear it from a deacon or a preacher they heard it from a regular memeber that God called to preach.

I can't say much about others. I can say so much about myself and to which I belong. I am a Christian baptized into Christ on October 1, 1989 and I belong to the Church of Christ founded and headed by Christ up to now. This started in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2. We do not use musical instruments during worship services on Sundays, Sunday being the first day of the week. We follow the Holy Bible as the doctrines or teachings of the Christian religion are laid down in the Holy Bible. There are congregations of the Church of Christ around the world. They are all on the same level, no human being as head for it is the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven who shepherds His flock. Should you desire to learn about it, I think there is a congregation near you. Check it from the internet or send me a private message if interested.

Thank you for your insight. I know God has led me to the congeregation I'm in. The thing that blows my mind is that I stayed away from church for many years for these reasons. I guess I'm learning that no matter what there is te same thing no matter where you go. The world is full of problems and it's now more than ever time for unity. God Bless you!

The Bible says that in the last days there will be a falling away. We're seeing this happen in a lot of churches. Satan is trying desparately to destroy God's work and divide His people because he knows he can't win. The key to all this is fervent prayer and seeking God's will.

I like that said fervet prayer. I felt God lead me here and I ask why me what do I have to offer this broken little church? One thing I'm seeing now is the women trying to get together and take charge. I feel this is what is trying to happen. One or two stated noone will be happy in the church unless the women is happy. That was an alarming statement to me. I try to stay away from stcking to a conformed group of ladies. I fellowship with them all. I think this is why I don't have a single good friend there is because noone knows how to read me. I would like to know them all not just a little herd. I'm praying there will great revival in this church.

I was lost before but I believe that God put me in this place where I'm at right now for a purpose. And as what my favorite song tells, "This must be the place". I know that wherever you go, there is always an air of politics around, and churches are no exception to that. But as i've learned in time, I have come to always keep in mind that it is not the people i'm following but the Lord Jesus Christ. One good reason why many churches fail and breaks apart is because the people are more focused on the people around them than on the God that they are seeking when they go to church. Let us also remember that we are still on the flesh, although we are in Christ, being in this mortal body does not exempt us from sinning, we are still a creation in progress. I hope you this will help you. God bless.
