Does anyone feel that proper eating can help a person fight stress or prevent yourself from being stressed? I think that it can help us in some ways avoid becoming stressed. Here are some tips that I found. "Follow a high carbohydrate, low protein diet for a short periods of stress. The carbohydrates deliver energy to the body. For longer stress periods consume more protein and fewer carbohydrates. Chewing crunchy foods helps dissipate the tension." Do you believe this information or does it matter what types of foods you eat that can help or lead to stress?

This is an interesting question you pose. I think the food we eat has alot to do with our ability to deal with stress. Some foods tend to bog us down while others will give us energy. Stress requires an alert mind and energy. For me, fresh veggies and fruit are good at keeping me alert and I think this gives me the ability to handle stress.
I have also found that walking, for pleasure helps me deal with stress. I love to hike in the woods and walk just for the enjoyment of it. It is on the hikes and walks that I come to terms with the stress in my life. I feel better and renewed again after i return home

I too do a lot of walking to help me deal with stress as well as eating plenty of fruits and salads. I do all of those things and going bowling helps me as well. Exercise I think is very crucial to help us stay healthy and be stress free or less stressed.

I think there is a lot to be said about the saying "you are what you eat" for sure! I think when you eat healthier you tend to feel better. If you feel better you handle life's stresses better. I'm not so sure chewing something harder helps, but hey... perhaps for some it could! I've seen people pop a piece of gum in their mouth when stressed so it could definitely be a possibility!

Eating the right foods can help combat stress, I think. Consuming too much fat, salt, sugar, caffeine, etc. can make people feel different ways, including tired, irritable, sleepless, etc.
Of course, when a person is stressed out they are more likely to eat the wrong foods to comfort themselves.
One important thing in combatting stress is getting enough sleep, and getting some exercise, even if it's just going for a walk.
