Good question . Even I wonder why ! Maybe coz long time ago some firehouse had a pet dalmation and some thing happened such that the picture of the firemen and the dalmation came in the newspaper that it became very famous and left an impression on the people's mind that they always thought of a dalmation when it came to firehouses or firemen. Dilemma solved
