I have hear of that laughing Buddhas are lucky - but only if someone gives one to you. If you buy one for yourself, apparently it doesn't work. Is this true?

i agree with you totally. these things are used largely for tourism and material aspects and i donot find anything appealing but the aesthetic value. thank you for coming back. keep sharing..

I don't believe in it either - I think it's an invention of the tourist trade, to persuade people to buy them as gifts. I heard the story about how it is lucky to receive a laughing buddha as a gift in Hong Kong.

i really appreciate. it's always commendable to learn from experiences and i must congratulate you. personally, eunice, i donot have any faith in these things. i feel what we experience is the impact of what we have done and i would like to consider God's grace to add to it and that's it. thank you very much dear keep sharing

I like the laughing buddha, but I don't have one as I don't like to keep statues & figuines in my house. I've not heard that it will have positive effects of feng shui, but it's definitely good to look at one when you are feeling down.

I do not have a laughing budhha because i don't think that some kind of stuff can bring luck or fortune. Maybe the ones which have can tell us more about it but i don't believe in it. I have some friends which have and told me that it didn't helped them with nothing. Good luck!
