What do you do in your everyday life to conserve energy or water?

I'll only have an appliance or light on when I need it, and every other time it'll be switched off at the outlet. I know it seems silly, but I also put a bucket in when I have a shower, and pour the water outside ono the garden. We're in quite a drought in Australia at the moment, so they've been drilling water conservation into us for a year or so now.

we are working to build a solar powered home and the gutters run the rain water into barrels that we can water the garden or animals with.

I too turn off unnecessary lights. We use watersaver nozzles on our faucets as well to conserve water. Although where I live isn't in a drought, every little bit helps.

Heya, I try to conserve as much power as possible and do the same with the lights and the appliances as you mentioned. I dont do the bucket thing for water but it certainly a good idea, we do however have a water saving shower head and also a very very water efficient washing machine. I always try to think about conserving water because as you mentioned, we are in the midst of a drought. Tanika.
