Ben Stiller's Night At Museum Holds Sway At Box Office

Ben Stiller's comedy, Night at the Museum, was headed to dominate a second holiday weekend, with an estimated box office take of 37.8 million dollars from Friday to Sunday. Will Smith's The Pursuit of Happyness, which also stars his real- life son, held second place for a third week with an estimated 19.3 million dollars, according to the E!Online report posted Monday. The figures do not include New Year's Day income. Dreamgirls claimed third with 15.5 million dollars, followed by Charlotte's Web with 12 million dollars; Rocky Balboa, Sly Stallone's return to the ring, with 11.3 million dollars; Robert De Niro's spy film, The Good Shepherd, with 11.2 million dollars; the fantasy film Eragon, with 8.4 million dollars; the sentimental US football film, We Are Marshall, with 8 million dollars; the animated penguin story Happy Feet, with 7.8 million dollars; and The Holiday, with 6.7 million dollars.. The overall box office was up 36 over the Christmas holiday weekend and 12 per cent over the same time last year, E!Online reported.
