Butter?!?

United States

I am not known to be a great eater when it comes to finger foods. I drop salsa, ketchup, etc on my shirts. My questions is how to get butter and oil? There are times that my laundry detergent (Stainlifter All & Mighty) will work its magic. However I have a few shirts that are on the darker side and it looks like oil on the fabric. Does anyone have a recommendation to try when you spill butter or oil on my clothes? Any thoughts would be helpful.

I have the same problem as you and do a couple of things with oil stains on shirts. I use a stain stick called Stain Be Gone from Dollar General. If I get something on a shirt, I just rub some of that on it and wash it later and usually the stain comes out. If I suspect it might not, I put a little Dawn dish soap on it right before washing. Between those two things, I rarely have stains that don't come out.

I will definitely try to get my hands on the Stain Be Gone. I just spilled oil on myself tonight while cooking, but I was fortunate to have an apron on. I will pick up some dawn when I go to Market. Thanks for the great response.

I think that if you were to use one of those Tide Pens the minute it gets on to your clothing, that you would come out with better results in the wash. Just a suggestion.

Is the Tide Pen for colors and whites? I can't remember. I will have to carry one around in the purse if it safe for colors. Let me know when you can. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it, I haven't tried Oxy but I have some in my house. Appreciate helping the lightbulb in my brain go on.
