Online dating sites ???

I met my current boyfriend on the Plenty Of Fish dating website. We wrote/emailed and talked as friends for more than a few months. Then we had a date and hit it off. He doesn't live too far from my home town (20 minute drive) and I would have never met him. Yes, there are several success stories of others in my family and my friends circle. I believe in starting off as just friends, that way there isn't as much of a chance of hurting someone's ego (or your own.) I think the biggest thing is to not fully trust every guy that will email you. You have to get to know somebody really well, but take it with a grain of the old proverbial salt. (After all this IS the internet and there are lots of people who claim to be what they are not.) I liked POF because it was free and definitely not a scam. I have known people who joined some of the paid sites, and when they tried to unsubscribe they were billed over and over again anyways. All of the sites are NOT created equally. If you type the sites name into a search engine, and then put ? or forum after it, you will find out what people are really saying about that site. I won't slander anyones site, but I personally know of 2 off the top of my hat that are very well known on the internet, yet their 'recharging' policy after an unsubscribe is often commented about in other forums. Check them each out (terms of service) before joining any of them. Also, at POF, they have forums you can read in (without signing up.) Lots of people write in there, and believe me, you can pretty much get a clue on their personality by what they have written in the forums. If they're angry, or pick on other people in there, they're going to be that way elsewhere. If you do join one, be sure and read their articles on how to be safe with online dating...I would consider it a must!! Do I think they're all scams, heck no. But there are a few with bad reputations that I DO consider a scam...you have to do your due diligence just to make sure you're not getting into one of them. Good Luck!

I have never paid for online datin services.Because woman usually don't pay for that on some sites.Such as Mate1.I have joined 2 sites recectly to try to meet new people.I know that the man do pay for these services.Average cost is $30.00 per month.It isnt spam that i do guarantee you.I was a bit hesistant before to join or meet anyone..Especially nowadays over the net..You can find anything.But i did join.I met a guy last week actually he's nice.For now were friends and will see where that will go.
