I never lived in Virginia but I do have family there. I have visited a few times and love it. But I do have history there. My ancestors lived in Lousia. Hummm...that reminds me I need to get in touch with some genealogy places there so that I tie up some loose ends with my research.

I'm curious, what type of research are you doing -- your family tree?? I have thought about trying to research my family history, but I never know how or where to start so I never start -- maybe I'll try to something with it this year. So much to do, so little time!! Oh well, good luck with your research :).

I'm a big fan of both Northern Virginia (Arlington and Alexandria) and Virginia Beach area. Of course one can not overlook the historical triangle. Virginia is a bedrock of great historical value and the climate here (especially southern VA) is nearly perfect for those who want a changing seasonry but not extremes.

I haven't spent alot of time in nothern va - and i'm ashamed to say I have never been to va. beach -- I've been here 18 years. I do love the climate -- and the history, I primarily hike, canoe, camp -- the james river is a big event in the spring, summer and fall - :)

I never lived there, but visited it. It's a lovely state, with a lot of historical interests. I loved Williamsburg.

Virginia Aquarium - Jelly Fish. Taken with a Canon SD900 Powershot, aquarium setting..
I wanted to post a picture that I took at the aquarium. At the time that I last posted but I wasn't up to 500 at that time. We went there just this past weekend and I took my new camera and the instruction book.:) I have a setting on my camera for taking pics of aquatic life in an aquarium. I got a really cool one of the octopus and one of a jelly fish. I need to learn to use my new software so I'm going to try and upload one now.

I lived in Winchester, VA while attending Shenandoah University and it is absolutely beautiful. I loved that it was everything I wanted in one. There was History, enchanting scenery, and peace and quiet. It was truly home away from home.
