does crime in america bother people anymore?

it just seems as if we americans have become so accustomed to violent crime that it just rolls off us like water off a duck...we may read a story such as, "st. loius man kills family of five," and we say to ourselves, "what a shame," then we forget about it... we should be so outraged at these acts. what can we do to wake americans up to the fact that violent crime is rampant and what can we do to try to snuff out violent tendencies.

No we are immuned to anything criminal, because it is shoved in our face daily. We no longer look out for our neighbors. We have become a non socialable society that keeps to itself when our neighbors are in need. We no longer have much empathy for anyone else's problems. The only thing left for any of us to do is pray and try to become a better neighbor and friend.
