I think that Philanthropy should be required of the rich.

I don't mean donating statues of oneself or your measly $5000 or $10,000 dollar donation to a charity for the middle income "poor" of their communities. I mean real Philanthropy. Giving money to places like Shelter from the storm, homeless shelters, organizations of do gooders that go out and feed the hungry or the elderly. Donate money to public education, scholarships for teh underpriveleged that are trying to better themselves things like that. I think that this project that Oprah Winfrey is doing in Africa though lavish, as only she can do (40 million dollars worth of lavish), and making it free to African girls 12-13 years old is really great. What do you think should it be required of those with over 2-5 million dollars in liquid assets to give something back to the world that has given them so much?
