Things You'll Need * bananas * melted butter * three flavors of ice cream (see Tips for which flavors match the grill) * caramel sauce * whipped cream * ice cream toppings of your choice Instructions * STEP 1: Heat the grill as hot as it will go. * STEP 2: Prepare the bananas by trimming the ends with a knife. Cut off the stem and the base of the banana. * STEP 3: With the banana still in its skin, cut it in half vertically so it's in two long lengths. * STEP 4: Brush the cut face of each banana half with melted butter. * STEP 5: Place the banana halves cut side down on the hottest part of the grill. They should sizzle quite audibly. * STEP 6: Stand ready with tongs and a spatula. The bananas will take less than a minute to grill. * STEP 7: To burn in grill marks, give the bananas a quarter turn so a new set of grill marks runs across the first set. This isn't necessary, but it looks nice. * STEP 8: Check the bananas as they cook; the cut side facing the grill should turn golden very quickly. Remove the bananas before they become too dark. * STEP 9: Let them cool slightly, and use your fingers to remove the banana skins. * STEP 10: Assemble each banana split by placing two grilled halves in an oval bowl. Top each with two or three scoops of different flavors of ice cream. Drizzle with caramel sauce, top each scoop with whipped cream, and garnish with chopped nuts, cherries or the topping of your choice. Tips & Warnings * The best ice cream flavors for this type of banana split are those that go well with the grilled, slightly smoky taste of the bananas. Choose ice cream flavors on the dark side of the spectrum, like chocolate, coffee, pecan and praline.

When I first thought of a 'Grilled Banana Split' I thought EEEEWWWWW! But, as I read on I began to think that it wouldn't be that bad. Hmm..I wonder what it tasted like....Maybe I can try to make it one day! The picture that is shown, it that yours? Did you try it? Was it good, or did it taste just like a Banana Split? Just a HOT Banana Split! LOL And if the Banana is still hot, maybe the ice cream will melt a little!! That would be great!!! :DD
