Why did Michael and his wife file for divorce?

Michael Jordan’s wife, Juanita, filed for divorce on January 4th, citing irreconcilable differences after 17 years of marriage. She is seeking full custody of their three children – Jeffrey, 13, Marcus, 11, and Jasmine, 9; the Jordans’ house in suburban Highland Park and half of the rest of their property. Jordan is one of the richest athletes in the world and he was paid more than $30 million in his final season with the Chicago Bulls. She is looking at a windfall, no doubt about that. I wonder what is the main reason for their divorce as this is sure to affect Jordan's marketing image, so it must be the last resort.

It's sad to here of such an outcome. They have been through so much together. It true that money can't alway buy happiness.

Infedelity is the main reason. I read where the marriage was over 5 years ago, but they stayed together for the kids to get older. She never could be with him intimately after she found out he was HIV positive from fooling around. I really don't blame her at all. I would have left as soon as I found out about his messing around and getting a disease to bring back home to me.

Its sad to note that they have been together for 17 years and i assumed theirs is one or if not the best sports couple we have ever known.Michael J is i guess a good husband and father to his kids.Whatever the reasons for their irreconcilable differences,i hope that they will remain to be friends.Remain to respect and understand one another, especially on the issue of child custody.Im sure that his children might take this negatively. However,i wish that Mike J will be able to stand up and move on forward with his life. The result of this divorce will either break or make him into the kind of person he desires to be. God bless you, Mike!
