Very good question. The internet is on it's way to replacing newspapers. I think the only problem with the internet is that you cannot trust it as much as a newspaper. Obviously popular sites are trustworthy, but some how reading news in tangible print seems to be more reliable. Maybe that is just my opinion. I think in a couple of years there will be a continuing decrease in newspaper and magazine sales.

I'd say the trustworthiness has to do mostly with having the common sense to realize that they can't get their news from The Onion, and similar sites.

I do not subscribe to the San Antonio Star or Light, but it seems to me that nearly everything that I would be interested in knowing or reading I can find on the web. I may cancel my newspaper subscription and save the money in the future.

no, not in india especially....... recently Microsoft had organised an event in India and on that they clearly say tht in india (acc. to a survey) readability/usership of indians reg. newspapers is growing 3-4% a year in comparison to internet. the opposite case is with other countries... so, next time do not believe in any thing untill and unless u have any proof of it mail me at true.akshat@gmail.com if u want the video of that Microsoft event

I think probably not.Because it is more detailed in the newspaper. They are more informative and interactive.I think there are still a lot of newspaper lovers, that's right! The metro is one of the world's largest free newspaper company in the world. The demand of newspaper is still very hi actually. They print out a lot ofcopies everyday!

I like having info overload at my fingertips. I'll be searching for one thing, then get caught away searching for something else.

I never read news when it's put online, mostly because I just don't care. A newspaper is good if your on the go, in the gym, or at a diner.

for me yes, is a very good innovation, because in Italy in the last year the information liberty has suffered a big downfall!

actually till now it has not fully replaced newspaper coz most of the people dont know how to access internet and evenif some know they dont like reading the news from the internet coz they r habituated to reading news from the newspaper itself.it would take time for the internet to replace the newspaper. well i also read news from the internet.

It has been my experience that only the very old don't know how to access the net. Even people in their fifties and sixties can surf.

It has for me. I very seldom read a real newspaper, but I do scan the news on the local newspaper site.

Not entirely--yet. But the internet is definitely gaining in popularity. I would say it is a lot rarer to find teenagers these days reading newspaper than any generation prior, but newspapers still have some appeal I think.

Newspapers being replaced by internet is a possibility in the near future.Personally I prefer reading news from a paper, call it an ingrained habit or a inability to stare at comp. monitor for long. This has certain advantages such as paper less documentation and hence could be environ - friendly.I feel eventually newspapers will be replaced , going by the present trend . Check out this link ..this futuristic flash shows one such possibilities .. http://idorosen.com/mirrors/robinsloan.com/epic/

For some people, absolutely... but not in our house. We still subscribe to the newspaper and everyone in the house reads parts of it. Often, the kids are required to have articles for school, cut out of the newspaper, and the teachers will not accept news items printed of the 'net. So, a subscription is still needed for us.
