How much weight did you gain during your pregnancies?

I'm wondering how much you gained during your pregnancy, how did the extra weight make you feel during your pregnancy and if you were able to lose it all after your baby was born. I gained about 30 lbs. for each pregnancy and usually was pretty huge at the end of each one. My husband called me a sea cow at about 7.5 months. I have lots of baby fat left to lose! What about you?

I gained 80lbs with my first daughter going from 100lbs to 180. Now that is a sea cow. The second 2 I gained right around 15 lbs. The one I am pregnant with now, due the first of next month I started out at 125 and I am 174 with another month to go. I think I gained so much with this one because I have to get back down to my original weight by June 16th because my husband and I are having an actuall wedding to renuw our vows. I bought the dress planning on having a real wedding the first tiome but he had to ship out to Iraq.

Wow, how did you lose the weight from your first daughter? I would really like to know your secrets! BTW, my friends are renewing their vows in September because they didn't have an opportunity for a "real" wedding before he had to ship out to Iraq too.

I know you are probably going to hit me or something when I say this, but I only gained 15 pounds when I got pregnant and lost it all a week later. But I was in the army at the time, so that is my excuse for not being a sea cow!!! I have fat to lose but it's not baby fat, if that makes you feel good.

If I was going to hit you I would have done it by now! We should make goals to lose fat together!

I think one way we could do that is not eat a much food, let's say "COOKIES" And don't snack as much, but the winter months are really hard cause it is too cold to really do anything, well, except this year. Okay I am up for the challenge.

I honestly don't remember exact amounts (my kid are teens now) but I know that I didn't really gain a lot with either pregnancy. My twins you would expect I gain a ton but while I got huge I was also eating so well that I was losing my own body fat and the kids were healthy and fine. Through the entire pregnancy, with the twins, I think I only gained a total of about 20 pounds if that. When I had them I actually went LOWER than my original weight before pregnancy because I lost the baby weight and had no extras, but had actually lost some of my own weight! With my first I think I gained the average, maybe 25 to 30 pounds.

There are going to be some women who really hate you once they read that you actually lost weight when you had twins when most of us pack it one with just one child!! Good for you though!

First pregnancy - LOST 60 lbs Second pregnancy - LOST 25 lbs. Third pregnancy - Lost 10 lbs fourth pregnancy - gained 2 lbs. I was 325 lbs when I got pregnant with my first child so my doc put me straight to a nutritionist and with the help of Weight Watchers and I learned to eat healthy and correctly and enough for me and the baby. This practice continued at all pregnancys and all of my babies were super helthy and so was I. I learned to eat a piece of baked chicken and a salad and a healthy dessert rather than fries and soda and chips and fried chicken etc. I still follow Weight Watchers for maintanence and so does my husband. We are fitness buffs and make sure that the weight does not ever come back like our long ago past of 300+ lbs.

1st daughter 38 lbs, 2nd daughter 29lbs and my son 36 lbs. I had my son 3 months ago and I now weigh 3 lbs less than my pre pregnancy weight. I weigh 109. Before I started having kids, I weighed right at 105. I guess im just lucky, because after each pregnancy I could fit into my pre pregnancy clothes within 2 weeks. I do wish you luck losing the weight, but do it for yourself not for anyone else. My only suggestion is to eat when you want, if you try to hold off eating you tend to eat more.. its a mind game. Eat when your hungry.

My biggest problem is that I eat even when I'm not hungry! I love to eat and it's not really helping me lose weight! :)

I started at 55kg and at full term I was 68kg.. so i gained 13kg.. To the family, I wasnt pregnant, I was just fat! Thats what they liked to call me, fatty fat fat fat! It wasnt very nice. I lost 8kg from the birth, and through bad eating and not doing alot, i gained it back :( I joined a gym and am eating healthier, these days im more around the 64-65kg mark, but with Christmas just gone, i indulged myself a little too much ;) so its time to work extra hard at the gym!

Hmmm...well, it varied from each pregnancy. I was pregnant seven times, so none were all the same. My first pregnancy I was severely underweight so when I gained weight, my body was trying to hold as much as it could because I guess it thought I was starving it. So I went from 90 Lbs to 150 Lbs! And then it took me a few months to get back into my clothes. But with each pregnancy, my body knew what to do and didn't have to gain as much. But for some reason with each pregnancy, I had a harder time loosing the weight too! My last baby took me a year to loose the weight! And I only gained 30 Lbs then!!!

Well I've never been pregnant but I lived with my sister while she was. You are really going to hate her (I do for it) She lost weight during her pregnancy. Yes you read it right she lost weight. By the time my niece was born she lost a total of 40lbs. From what my mother said she was the same way. Something to do with being pregnant and having all the hormones work right or something. That and my sister had horrible morning sickness for the first five months. Still doesn't seem fair that she lost the weight during it.

I did too, that's why my weight gains aren't that much! I lost almost 15 lbs and then gained like 30 with my oldest in the last 2 months! I was like that with each kid. Weird huh? I also fit right back into my jeans straight out of the hospital. And when I was prego with my youngest, my girl, you could not even tell. She weighed almost 6 lbs, but we had a lot of complications..She was a twin and I lost the other one. Pregnancies are weird and different for everyone!

I was 125 lbs at the beginning of both of my pregnancies, and with my first child, I went up to 147 lbs. I think I went up to 149 with my second. I got pregnant with my son 7 months after I had my daughter, so you can see I lost the baby "fat" pretty quickly... but it took much, much longer to lose it after I had my son. I did not get down to 125 til he was about 2 1/2. LOL

well with my first one i gained about 50 pounds the second i gained about 45 or so. I don't know why I gained so much weight, i have unusually large babies (#1 10 pounds 14 ounces, #2 9 pounds even (we took him early)). but have managed to loose most of it already, but the youngest is only four months so it may take a little longer to loose the rest.. i think i have like 8 pounds to go to get back to pre pregnancy weight..

I was so fat my second pregnancy that when I turned sideways to let someone pass me in a small aisle I blocked even more space. I could have cried, but eventually the weight came off.

My mother-in-law tells stories of being so big that when she ate dinner she had to turn her chair sideways at the table so that her arms could reach her plate. She's pretty short so that is probably a big part of it!

I gained about 10 pounds each pregnancy. On the surface, that's really low and I'm grateful, but I wasn't thin to begin with so -- starting at my 3rd pregnancy it's still at that "too high for me" number.

With my daughter, I only gained 17 pounds total and I lost almost all of it shortly after she was born. With my son, I gained nearly 60 pounds, but then I was put on bedrest by the fourth months and was flat on my back and sick for the rest of the pregnancy. I never completely lost all the weight after my son was born, and that did upset me a bit. Now, my son is 12 years old, and I've struggled with my weight off and on for the last 12 years.

In all 4 of my pregnancies I only put on 12.5 kilos. Sorry I have no idea what that is in pounds. I always lost the baby tummy ater all but my last child. It is not too bad but I figure I still look pretty good after 4 kids :)

This is very wrong that your husband is calling is sea cow . He has to understand the situation you are facing. Instead of caring you and try to make comfortable he is calling you sea cow. You have to tell him that he should do this because you are giving him a god gift after keeping a child in the stomach for nine months it is very difficult. If you have increased the weight it is the weight of the baby not of your. He should undertand this thing.
