Happiness is a state of mind. 'the mind is its own self
and can make a Heaven of Hell and a Hell of Heaven.'MILTON -personally i feel that he who is absolutely contented and believes whole-heartedly that he is fortunate to lead a fulfilled life, is a very happy person. --

Thanks a lot for the responses. But I meant happiness as a general term. Some people with mental maturity lead a happy life. By that, I mean that they realise their capacty and try to work for it. They also accept what nature has given them.
Even when they face certain problems that cannot be changed, (for example, handicapped people or people with other serious problems.)
So I feel people who work to improve their standards financially, who just have temporary tensions are the happiest people. What do you think?

I think that those who are happy are those people who *will* themselves to be happy.
Some people have no serious problems in life - they have perfect families, great jobs, good financial security, but still they're worried about this or that and they remain worrying and complaining most of their life. I wouldn't call them happy.
On the other hand, there are ppl who have serious problems (such as financial or emotional problems) but can still grin and bear it. And they are happy even though they have so many problems in their life.
So I guess happiness is a state of mind, not a question of your life situation or anything else.

I agree. What I would like to stress is that most of the people donot realise if they are happy are not.One of my relatives used to worry suppose if he gets some disease, if his bank is robbed,if earthquake comes,etc,..
