Rent or Own?

Do you rent or own your own house? Which do you think is better renting or owning? If you rent do get a long with your landlord? We rent and think its better because any upkeep and taxes that are paid on the house the landlord has to pay for not us. We get along pretty good with our landlord most of the time. He's a close friend to so of course there are times he iritates us. He's a pretty good landlord too, very easy going about things. Please no 1 word answers to this post. I'll read and rate each one. I'll try to respond where I can but want to say thank you now in advance for all responses.
