How can I get PayPal codes?

when I make payments on Ebay.. I see a spot for paypal codes... what are they? I assume they are to give you maybe a break on fees... or something like that.. but how can I get some? I use paypal often.. so if it's for frequent use.. I would think I would have already gotten some lol... if anyone knows about these please enlighten me.. lol.. Thanks,

My birthday was in October and my brother sent me some ebay gift certificates. When I used them to purchase something on ebay, when I got to the paypal screen I had to type in the codes from the gift certificates to pay for the item. I think this is what you are talking about. I had never heard of this before then so don't feel bad!

that would make sense as well.. I didnt think about that.. I wish I got a ebay gift certificate lol..
