Bashing America

United States

Why is it that so many other countries come crying to the USA for help when there invaded or a disaster strikes, and yet these same people burn our flag in there streets and bash this great country on this site and many others, and yet they have no problem with taking American money as payment for asking questions or whatever else, not to mention they would break a leg to live here in freedom. Im seeing many users from India starting to bash us, now i know earning a huge .20 cents a day is good money for living that oasis they call home, but im starting to get sick and tired of it...does this bother anyone else?

they are angry at us because of the actuions of our governments. lets take for example iraq. iraq was completely democratic before saddam was ever in power. but they would not let america and the uk into their share of the second biggest oil reserve in the world and life was good for all iraqis. so the CIA assassinated their democraticaly ellected leader and put saddam hussain in his place. they then sold saddam weapons of mass destruction to fight iran, which he also used to kill some people of his own country. the us government knew full well that this was going on, but turned a blind eye. fast-forward a few years and saddam is now blocking the us and uk out of its supply of oil. so in the early 90's the us and uk start bombing iraq. they fail to oust saddam but kill thousands of civilians in the process. fast forward to 2001 and alquaeda bomb the US. what a perfect oportunity this is to link saddam to terrorism and get into iraq. so they tell us saddam is linked to al'quada and that he has weapons of mass distruction. saddam has no link to al'quada what-so-ever, but he does have weapons because we sold them to him. we didnt mind then but now we want to use it as an excuse to bomb iraq, killing almost 60,000 civilians so far, and just as many US service men as the number of people killed in the 9/11 attacks. so now you know why they burn our flags. the people are not angry at us, they are angry at our capitalist governments.

oh and also, countries don't come crying to america for aid. as part of the UN it is expected of america, to give aid, just as the countries of europe do. they don't ask, we just give

Nobody ever said war was pleasant and the fact remains, If that insane dictator Saddam had said YES to allowing UN inspectors to search for the WMD's that fool would still be in power today killing millions of innocent people just as he has done, but he chose NO.

no he wouldnt. saddam never killed millions of people. and please reread what i said, you don't seem to get it - WE PUT SADDAM IN POWER. it doesn't matter what you say, it's our fault there's war. imagine if another country put bush in power. then bombed america to take him out of power. imagine how angry you would be with that country.

America is the worst country in the world. Even you see they are very civilised, but their people and leader have mindset like 2000 years back. It democrasy is the worst, like communist. They want others to follow their thinking but it become a problem who follow america way of life. Now america is become a war maniaq, any country it sees more power, more civilise, america will attack it.

Umm where do you get your information? If the US is so bad, why are so many risking life and limbs to get here? I think you should know what you're talking about before you reply to a discussion. Because replies like this one shows just how uneducated you are. If I were you, I would atleast read a history book. The US wasn't even a country 2000 years ago.

I'm personally bothered by the war that exists in here between you americans and the Indian people. Would you both countries cut it off? There are some other nations in here that they need to share many things and you are making always discussions about this thing.

I'm a Canadian Citizen, living in Canada, but when I hear people bashing America, I let 'em have it!! I may not agree with who lives in the white house, but I'm not going to let that shape my opinion of your great nation.

I have always been a proponent of free speech, but I also never can stand hearing so many say so much about what they know nothing about. If you are an American, feel free to talk about the government and what you think they are doing. In fact, that is part of what is great about our system. You can do that. But be respectful. Freedom of speech ends when the rights of others are infringed upon. If you are not American, then how dare you say anything! I don't bash the government of India, Canada, Germany, Russia, France, etc because I don't live there. I welcome any offers of help from them, and I welcome them with open arms. You'll never hear me bash someone solely based on personality, or character. My bashing is always done on a level that involves some shred of dignity and humility. I would only hope that everyone else would do the same.

maybe if you didnt have such a hostile foreign policy people might view yo with a bit more respect. The ones burning the flag seem to be the ones that you have bombed sop maybe they have a reason for not liking you. But to be fair look at your original post, that in itself is xenophobic and belittling. I thiink you may have answered you own question here.

I have seen many printed articles on news and other books of people bashing America but I have yet to see a country that issued an official statement bashing America then come to America asking for help. There maybe some militant groups and extremists who are criticizing America but they don't represent the sentiments of the whole country. America on the other hand, out of the kindness of the American hearts extend humanitarian aid whenever calamity strikes wherever in the world. God bless America!!!!!! .By the way, I'm not an American, I only want to look at the issue objectively.
