I'm wondering how many people have had this happen to them, I thankfully have never had this happen, but i get very frightened that it will? What can i do to protect myself better?

No, i have never had it stolen off the internet, but have had identity theft! twice actually, and oddly enough by the same person, they are now in jail for a very long time, and i have yet to fix my credit! It is a horrible thing to go through, you get ready to go get a new car and then told you were denied for this reason, and the reason isnt even legit because i didnt do it :(:(:(

I am an independent asociate for identity theft shield. Our service monitors your identity and if it does get stolen, we are the only company who will restore it. It is a wonderful service to have. My husband and I are covered under it and we get notices if something hits our reports and if not, we get a notice once a month saying everything is okay. If you would like to check out the service, I have included my website. There is a short clip about what we do for you to help shield your identity. If you have questions, just email me and I will answer them. If you decide this is one protection you want/need, the day you sign up, you become activated. I hope this helps you because as we all know, this is becoming an uncontrolable problem. Good luck! Staci www.prepaidlegal.com/hub/stacigillen
