How do you get avacados ripe?

Avocados were onsale for a really good price and I bought 4. However, they are unripe. Is there a better way than the paper bag idea to get them ripe? i love avocados and would love to make a salad with them this weekend.

Hi lena :) They should ripen in 3 to 5 days if left at room temperature but if you want to ripen them faster, do put them in a paper bag but put an apple in there with them. It'll speed things up!
