Being raised with three brothers I learned not to let anyone take advantage of me. When I go to a car repair shop and they start talking a bunch of stuff that I know is not wrong with my car I let them know that I already know what the problem is. My brother is a mechanic and has already looked at it he just is to busy right now. I also let them know that I know about what it should cost to fix. I am the same with with any repair people. I usually know what is wrong and what the cost should be. I get estimates. I don't let them take advantage because I am female.

I don't either. My family has worked in cars for a long time so I know to check with them or my husband. I have also had enough car problems myself to know when something is wrong. I have had friends who have had issues at times though.

I don't particularly feel that was as I am still in school and don't have time to do much else. But I guess that everything has its disadvantages - no metter who you are, no matter where you go. There is nothing we can do about that.
