a Brief History of the Transformers

Last December, I relived my childhood memories by once again watching (well, technically, i just listened to it since i am now blind due to a shooting incident that took my sight last 2003) the complete episodes of the Transformers TV series. But this time, the set of episodes i have been able to watch started during the rule of Rodimus Prime, Optimus Prime's successor. But it was a good thing that i was able to watch it on DVD since i realized that i had little information on the actual history of the race of robots that apparently made it on this planet. so here goes my thoughts about the history of the Transformers:- there was this race of aliens who created two product lines: consumer goods, and military hardware;- Cybertron was created to act as a mini-plentlike factory of these machines;- the machines then began to develop a certain state of consciousness wherein they knew the difference between slavery and freedom;- the consumer goods wanted to launch a peaceful rebellion, and the military hardware wanted conquest;- of course, the consumer goods were no match in terms of firepower to the military hardware;- thus, they invented the "art of transforming" so as to use stealth over firepower;- the military hardware also learned the "art of transformation";- and the war rages on: the military hardware now call themselves Decepticons; the consumer goods now call themselves Autobots; and, as always, evil tends to always seek conquest, and kindhearted entities always seem to ward off the evil forces the best possible way they can. personally, i wonder if the electronic impulses that are responsible for making us feel emotions and think logically can also be converted into mathematical language then again converted to a set of programming codes that machines could understand. but the main thing here is that machines should also be programmed to continue to learn so as to gain more from their senses. i am just not obliged to actually believe that the same god that have endowed us with senses, intellect, and reason have also intended us to forego its use, so it would not be wise to do the same thing to these machines - 'cause if you act godlike in this sense, you may not be able to control these machines for we may give them free will in the process!

well, i use this special software that was designed to provide unrestricted access to computer and internet use by blind people - JAWS... there are also freeware screenreaders out there, and i'm currently researching on it since i want to help blind people here in my country, particularly those who just can't afford the retail screenreaders... there's this live CD linux os version specifically designed to act as a free os for bind and visually impaired individuals, and its called oralux...

well, sometimes, you have to do what needs to be done, right? giving anything up for love and memories is always acceptable, i guess, but giving up your own set of memories for something that is not about love but its possible creation should always be avoided, or at least that's what i think...
