The Bully Run

We have 3 bull terriers and when they do the bully run you duck for cover. What is the bully run, well it is exactly as it sounds the bull terrier runs often looping around its intended target and closing in tighter and tighter circles. The dog will often punce once they get close enough or sometimes they just run smack bang into the back of your legs. You don't stay upright when this occurs, if you are lucky you stagger forward and backwards madly waving your arms as you try to regain your balance. unlucky and you land ina an umgraceful lump in the ground as the dog then proceeds to bounce over you joyously. Multiply it by three, it can be painful. Watching the dogs run into each other with audible whumps leaves you wondering how they can walk aferwards. The bully run doesn't occur daily but at least once a week I get to watch this phenonemon and it never ceases to amze me. Has anyone else been victim to or watched this incredible display of strength?

Woah !!! That bully run reminds me my "dogo argentino" dog that I had a long time ago. A dogo argentino is a hybrid of a bull terier with many other kinds. He had a tendency to run in circles and one time he took a long distance , ran toward my legs and just tackled me so hard , my knees were locked and I got pushed backwards so hard on the trees at my garden. That dog was sure strong. But still , it's not like the bully run , the bully run is so cute and with such small circles.

Yes, I know about bully runs, or we also call them hot laps and if you don't have sturdy furniture, you will soon have no furniture at all. What is also amazing is how they charge up against the coach back rest and run horisontally against it before leaping off and running for the next chair. My one bully once "rode" a nice big comfy chair right through the window. They best bet when they take the floor is to get to a safe place and just enjoy the formula 1 racing in the comfort of your own home. I also have three bullies and there are just no other dogs that come even close to how much they make me laugh.

I have noticed it before, and am amazed as well. I have learnt that the best thing to do is to just keep out of the way of the animals, and then it will not be an issue.
