I am just wondering if anyone else has had a DVT in the thigh and what you did about it. I am on the blood thinners, but the pain is almost unbearable! It took me a couple of weeks to go to the doctor for it to be found, so I am wondering if I waited too long, or if the pain is normal. I can't seem to get any answers as to how long the pain will continue. Any comments would be great. Thanks!

The pain is normal, I too had a blood clot, well two of them. one in my calf and one in my lung. I waited about two weeks to go to the hospital, Ijust thought my leg was cramping! It hurt so bad. Do you know how you got the blood clot? Are you taking Coumadin?

I also waited forever to go in to see what my pain was from. I got it as a result of having an LP shunt put in to relieve excessive spianl pressure. I am on coumadin right now and it stinks!! Thanks for your response!

I know it has been a year since you posted this but I hope you are still with MyLot. The pain you are feeling is very normal. I treally sucks I know. I had a DVT in my thigh also. It took over a year before it really stared to get any better. The pain is caused by the scare tissue in your vein. Most doctors will not tell youthis. The pain my be with you for the rest of your life but not as bad. It is one of the things that you get used to after so long. My pain has become better over time but their are still days that I would rather chop my leg off than deal with the pain. I was coumindin but before that I was on Lovemox which is in injection form. Talk about suck. I hated it so much that every time I had to get another, which by the way was twice a day, I wanted to cry. It hurt so bad after a few months of it. There are a few sited that you can find stories about how others have dealt with this. Just type in DVT and you will find them. Also check out Webmd they have a lot of great information.
