Lost Art of Love Letter Writing!

I am the kind that falls in and out of love all the time. I have used various methods to communicate my feelings to that special person in my life. Phone calls, emails, text messages and off course the 3 infamous verbal words. Lately, I have thought a lot about writing a love letter. I have see old movies where this was quite common. I dont know how many of us use this way of conveying our feelings. Are there stories out here among the members of success with love letters? What is the trick of writing good love letters? Should they be short,long, to the point, descriptive? I am just so confused.
