can two people in the same home play with each other with two pc's in a game

Yes, you can if you have licenses to cover both copies of the game and you have the computers connected either with a cross-over cable or have them connected as a workgroup using a little mini-hub.

The best way to play would be through LAN . If you have a router connected between the two systems then you can make a computer as server and the other as clinet and enjoy. If you dont have a router then you need to have NIC cards in both sytems. Just get some cat5/e cable in corss-end conifguration and connect it to both systems

An online game - yes, sign in under your own screen names and play A computer game on disc - yes if it is downloaded onto your computer, some games require the disc so you would need two discs.

It depends on the game...any game that has multiplayer should allow you to do this, but depending on how the multiplayer is coded, you may have to directly connect from one computer to the other. If you have a specific game that you want to do this for, I can probably help you out some more...
